The story behind the voice
Carlos Hernandez is a Houston-based printmaker, designer, and founding partner of Burning Bones Press. His work spans fine art, music, advertising, and commercial design, with clients including Apple, Levi’s, Google, American Express, and Live Nation.
A two-time Artist-in-Residence at Hatch Show Print, Carlos’s work is part of the collections of the Smithsonian and Library of Congress. He has created the official commemorative poster for Austin City Limits Music Festival and has worked with legendary hot rod artist Ed “Big Daddy” Roth.
Carlos has taught and lectured at universities, museums, and art institutions across the U.S., including Parsons, Pratt, Harvard Art Museums, and the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston.
His work has appeared in Communication Arts, Mexican Graphics, and Pressing Matters. A graduate of Texas Tech’s Graphic Design program, Carlos is also a member of the Outlaw Printmakers.
